The NOVA Clinical Trial validates RadiusXR’s advanced diagnostic accuracy in Visual Field Testing for Virtual Reality Perimetry. The trial revealed remarkable findings, including statistical non-inferiority to current clinical standards for sensitivities at individual test locations, with high concordance in glaucoma staging using Medicare definitions, and an exceptionally high correlation of 0.94 mean deviation.

Out of 100 participants, half were previously diagnosed with moderate or severe glaucoma, and the other half were mild or suspect.
0.94
Correlation in mean deviation (MD)
Confusion matrices (original staging data) for grader 1 and grader 2. Weighted kappa was 0.91 for grader 1 and 0.93 for grader 2.
(A) Deming regression on all estimated sensitivities across all test locations when setting <15 cB to 15 dB; (B) mean deviation; (C) test duration.

Automated visual field testing devices are a key tool in detection, diagnosis, monitoring, and management of various ocular and neurological conditions. Traditional devices have been used in clinics for decades with advances in analysis and testing strategy but little change in the patient experience. Headset automated visual field technology presents an opportunity to change the patient experience. However, VR perimetry presents new questions and challenges.
